Visitors at Union County Public Schools will be encountering a new check-in procedure beginning next Tuesday, January 17th. The new Complete Campus Security Solution system will provide an efficient way to monitor visitors entering and exiting buildings in the district. The system will track visitors and volunteers which will allow the district to keep an accurate log of all volunteer hours. In effort to standardize the visitor check-in procedures across the district, the system will be implemented at all three elementary schools, the middle school, and high school.
As part of the new system, visitors will be required to provide a photo ID andhave their photo taken at the front office, where a visitor ID badge will be issued. To ensure that all visitors properly check out when exiting the building, the office will keep the photo ID and return it upon check out.

"The safety of our students is a priority," said District Safety Committee Chairman, Kent Green. "By accurately identifying every visitor in our buildings and having a standard check-out procedure, we will have an improved system of ensuring the security of our buildings."
As the schools work to implement the new system in their buildings, it may initially take a few minutes to process new visitors through the check-in system. "We need to keep in mind that this new system is ultimately about providing safer buildings for our students," said Green. "We do not want to sacrifice security for speed."
