On August 28, Union County Public Schools hosted Kentucky’s Commissioner of Education, Dr. Robbie Fletcher. Dr. Fletcher serves as the chief state school officer and CEO of the Kentucky Department of Education. Dr. Fletcher began his role on July 1 of this year and is making an effort to get to know school systems on a personal level.
During his time in Union County, he was able to experience three schools and meet many school district team members. At Sturgis Elementary, Dr. Fletcher visited students and staff in classrooms, hallways, the Family Resource Center, and the playground. At UCHS, he attended a reception for Jayden and Jordyn Raney where he addressed the wrestling team and guests. He also thanked Jayden and Jordyn for representing our state and nation with such great character, pride, and hard work. Lastly, Dr. Fletcher toured UCMS, making stops in the library and classrooms.
Union County Public Schools thanks Dr. Fletcher for taking the time to personally visit the district and show his support for students, staff, and the community.
