At Monday night’s Union County Board of Education meeting, the Board conducted its annual superintendent evaluation and rated Mrs. Patricia Sheffer as “Exemplary” in all categories. Mrs. Sheffer received the highest possible rating on each of the seven standards for superintendent evaluation which include Strategic Leadership, Instructional Leadership, Cultural Leadership, Human Resource Leadership, Managerial Leadership, Collaborative Leadership, and Influential Leadership.
Monday’s meeting was the final Board of Education meeting of Mrs. Sheffer’s tenure, as she is retiring at the end of this month. Board Chairperson Jennifer Buckman noted that Mrs. Sheffer has been "an exemplary leader who maintains professionalism and character. She leaves a legacy we hope to continue in her absence. She will be missed." Each Board member shared appreciation for Mrs. Sheffer's service and expressed well wishes for her retirement.
After her final evaluation, Mrs. Sheffer acknowledged her appreciation for the Board, her staff, parents, and community members for their ongoing support throughout her tenure. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am confident that our district will continue to thrive in the years to come,” Mrs. Sheffer expressed. “Thank you again for the privilege of serving as your Superintendent. It has been an incredible journey, and I will always cherish the memories and lessons learned along the way.”
